You Are Valued

Hey There!

I wrote this post to whoever might need it as a reminder of your value. You are so loved! God has made you unique and for a specific purpose – no one else is like you. Be proud of who you are in Christ!

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7

“Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
1 Peter 3:4

“By the grace of God, I am what I am.” 1 Corinthians 25:10

I hope this comforts those who need it.❤

Halloween Post + DIY Nebula Costume!

Hey There!

Costumes are always so fun, and I really enjoy dressing up. This year, I wanted to try something with face paint. I am a huge fan of the MARVEL movies, and so I decided to dress up as Nebula from the Guardians of the Galaxy! Everybody’s costumes were awesome, and it was fun getting candy together. 😉

Costumes.jpg

Costumes (from left to right): Invictus Man as Bucky Barnes; Lucky Fork Bob as Captain America; PearlyPinkRoses as Peggy Carter; Linaeum as Steve from Stranger Things, Master Mewtwo  as Link from Legend of Zelda; Wyn Estelle Owens as Gamora; and me as Nebula.

Nebula Makeup:

For my costume, I used a blue swim cap to make me look bald, and blue, purple, silver, and black face paint; along with some black eye shadows for contouring. Shout out to minidoxieluv for doing my makeup! Thank you so much!

I enjoyed being Nebula for a day, and wish I could have been her for longer! This has been one of my very favorite costumes. And now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll have a piece of candy. 😉

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Hey There!

Since it is starting to get cold (at least where I live), I wanted to make some festive desserts for Fall. I was perusing my baking books and stumbled upon a chocolate chip pumpkin bread recipe in a Sally’s Baking Addiction Book, and decided to try it out.

This pumpkin bread is SUPER moist, and the chocolate chips make it extra rich. I made this bread Gluten-Free, due to some allergies, and you would never know: the pumpkin and chocolate mask the GF flour taste. This recipe was easy and didn’t take too long – but it tasted amazing!

I also added some cinnamon cream cheese icing on top, just for fun, and I’m very glad I did! It added some extra texture. 😉 I used the Icing Recipe included with my favorite pumpkin cupcake recipe (it’s foolproof).

I am pleased to say that my dogs found the icing delicious!

Breathe By Grace

“Oh God, we breathe in your Grace and exhale.” – Exhale by Plumb

What does it mean to allow yourself grace? It means to forgive yourself for your mistakes and give some slack. What does God’s grace do for us? His Divine Grace allows us to take our mistakes to Him, be forgiven, and let them go. God doesn’t keep a record of our wrongs (Psalm 130:3), so why should we?

God created us (Genesis 1:27) and died for us (1 Peter 2:24). His death on the cross granted us grace. Without God’s grace, we would not exist let alone be able to breathe! Therefore, we literally breathe by grace and our hearts beat by grace.

Consider some lyrics from Symphony by Josh Wilson:

“. . . the sound of a heartbeat, like the drumbeat to a song. . . now every breath we breathe is a melody in the love song to the God who made every soul. . .

We exist because of the God who made every soul. He gave us grace – which not only saved our lives but granted us life – so we should share that with others. Give everyone some grace: family, friends, acquaintances, strangers – you don’t know what’s going on in someone’s life, or their head. Maybe your grace to them is what gets them through the day!

So give some grace & share a smile. Take a deep breath. Remember where your grace comes from: and exhale. ❤

Light

God’s light is in everyone, be he big or be he small.

It shows us how past mistakes could have been,

Leading us with Christ’s gentle call.

Luminous and shining,

Glorious is He:

The light of the world is our God Almighty!

Cheerful and bright are the rays from the sun,

Showing us God’s world,

Wondrous and Blazon.

DIY Barbie Doll Bunk Beds

Hey There!

Creating miniatures is lots of fun! My friend Blog of All Trades told me about some Barbie doll bunk beds she made, and inspired me to make some of my own! 😉 This project took about 3 days, and I am super happy with how it turned out!

For the bunk bed structure, I used popsicle sticks, hot glue, skewers, and wooden beads for the legs. Once the structure was finished, I made a dark stain using the tutorial from My Froggy Stuff!

For the mattresses, I used thick foam, cotton fabric, small buttons, and hot glue. An old fleece sweatshirt and matching cotton made great blankets! I used the same cotton fabric for the mattresses, blankets, and pillows for a uniform look.

Overall, I am very pleased with how these doll bunk beds turned out, and hope the dolls like them, too. 😉

Fall Flowers + Pumpkins

Hey There!

Are you enjoying Fall so far? I certainly am. The cool and crisp air and the beginning of leaves falling is so comforting to me. Apple cider, pumpkins, and other Fall treats are already here!

I went to the store a few days ago, and they were selling beautiful Fall flowers and pumpkins! I couldn’t resist the gorgeous and vibrant colors. What are some of your favorite Fall decorations? 😀

Crocheted Hanging Planter

Hey There!

Crocheting is an enjoyable hobby, and very useful. We recently got an aloe plant from a friend, but it turns out that aloe is poisonous to cats! Since we have a very active cat who loves jumping everywhere, we weren’t sure where to put the plant so she wasn’t in danger. Then my Mom had a great idea – she asked me to crochet a hanging planter for it!

I made up this pattern as I went along; customizing it for the vase we planned to use. I used a thin rope instead of yarn, because I didn’t want to take any chances of the yarn breaking and causing the vase to shatter. I had a lot of fun with this, and am very pleased with how it turned out… and now our cat isn’t in danger! 😉

Sunset Photos

Hello!

Sunsets are gorgeous – they show God’s handiwork in beautiful ways. ❤ I love staring up at the sky and feeling the LORD’s presence with me!

I took these photos while in the car, so they are a bit blurry. 😉
