The Senior Center

Hey There! 🙂

My Choir’s Madrigal group (including me) recently went to a local Senior Center to sing our songs to them for a treat! It was super fun, and helped to make some sweet memories.

I uploaded the videos of us singing our songs on my YouTube channel, so check it out! 😛

Here is a photo of me with PearlyPinkRoses before we headed to the Senior Center! 😀

Living the Sweet Life

O Love

“O Love, O Love, O Love that will not let me go,

I rest my weary soul in thee;

I give thee back the life I owe,

That in thine ocean depths its flow

May richer, fuller be.

O Joy, O Joy, O Joy that seeks me through the pain,

I cannot close my heart to thee!

I trace the rainbow through the rain and feel

the promise is not vain,

that morn’ shall tearless be!

O Love, O Love, O Love I rest my weary soul in thee!

I give thee back the life I owe! I give thee back the life I owe!

I give thee back the life I owe, that in thy oceans depths its flow

Shall richer fuller be, that morn’ shall tearless be!

O Love, O Love, O Love! O Love, O Love, O Love that will not let me go!

O Love, that will not let me go!”

Living the Sweet Life

Thy Will

When I am not feeling very Spiritual, I like to sing songs of praise to God. It helps put me in the right mood, and to feel God’s presence. One of my favorites is Thy Will by Hillary Scott and the Scott Family:

“I’m so confused, I know I heard You loud and clear so I follow through and somehow I ended up here!

I don’t want to think; I may never understand that my broken heart is a part of your plan! When I try to pray all I get is hurt and these four words:

Chorus:

Thy Will Be Done! Thy Will Be Done! Thy Will Be Done.

I know you’re good, but this don’t feel good right now
And I know you think
Of things I could never think about.

It’s hard to count it all joy, distracted by the noise,
Just trying to make sense of all your promises.
Sometimes I gotta stop: remember that you’re God and I am not!
So

Thy will be done! Thy will be done! Thy will be done

Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is:
Thy will be done! Thy will be done!
Thy will

I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord
Your plans are for me!
Goodness you have in store

I know you hear me
I know you see me, Lord
Your plans are for me!
Goodness you have in store
So

Chorus

Like a child on my knees
All that comes to me is
Thy will be done! Thy will be done! Thy will be done.

I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord

This song helps me to remember that God has all of the ups and downs already figured out for me. Whenever I pray, I pray that I would come closer to God — then I realize: maybe these days that I don’t feel God’s presence are what He’s using to bring me closer to Him by testing if I will follow through with reading my Bible, Praising Him, and most importantly, not forgetting Him.

Another song I love to sing is Faith is Not a Feeling, by Josh Wilson. The chorus goes like this:

“‘Cause when I don’t feel You moving that doesn’t mean that You have disappeared, and when I don’t feel you with me, oh God, that doesn’t mean You’re not here, so I’ll keep on believing, yeah, ’cause Faith is not a feeling, oh, so I’ll keep on believing, yeah, ’cause Faith is not a feeling, oh.”

Faith is not a feeling. Think about those words for a minute. We may have bad days, but God is always there, because He’s always constant! We can pray to Him about our troubles even if it feels like we are praying to a closed door and don’t feel like He’s listening: He is! Because faith is not a feeling, and God’s Will always will be done.
